tl;dr: bodies are stupid and I hate them.
It saddens me to report that on this day when I could have been going to Bangkok or even meeting an elephant, I was, instead, learning that HBO stands for Home Box Office (I know, I am late to the party) and that curling into a progressively smaller ball does not actually diminish the unhappiness in one's middle. While I never wish to characterize this as "luck" again, I have only felt miserable in an... upward direction. Also, my head is killing me, but I imagine a big chunk of that is from not being able to stomach the thought of coffee, and so going without. (My name is Rebecca and I have been a caffeine addict for about 8 years).
Being unwell is never fun, but away from home, the best you can hope for is a comfortable room and room service for whatever limited food needs you have.* So I'm doing pretty well, as these things go. It's just sorta depressing. Luckily, I have such cinematic gems as "The Expendables 2" to keep me company, so I am becoming Cultured while I am otherwise indisposed. Huzzah!
This post is mainly to serve as a public announcement that more extensive works of words will not be forthcoming today, though I have a lot more photos to format ineptly. Soon, I hope, I will be back on the blogging horse.
PS - I sneezed while I was throwing up, and now everything smells awful. It's like that scary movie - the smell is coming from inside the nose.
*This being the part of
Thailand it is, I imagine I could even pay for the privilege of having
someone pat my head and say "poor little bunny." (Ahh, the industry of
negotiable affection).
